These walls are porous because of the paint, and that means there are a lot of tiny holes that vapor particles can get into. The more texture there is on your walls, the faster the sticky film can build upon them. You would need to frequently scrub the walls to get rid of the build-up. However, the act of scrubbing could also damage the paint.
